The LG 42LV5500 was a strong performer in our motion tests. We saw some of the artifacts and objects have been relatively smooth. Well, all this comes with a caveat. To get the "proper" performance, we had to activate TruMotion function in the menu. The LG 42LV5500 not very good in our black level test, The LG 42LV5500 ($ 1,099) is a strong television in many ways, but we definitely came to find some weaknesses. First the good news. Color performance is not much better than this. It delivers exactly the colors that wanted to see the film and TV producers (assuming that you follow our recommendations practical calibration).
Second, the multimedia options are excellent. LG has to use a great job creating a simple, easy-to-use platform that your TV takes over the living room and on the inter webs for a variety of streaming content and applications. So far, only the top-end Samsung TVs were tuned to them in this regard. The LG LV5500 series is pretty good with special features such as local dimming and a fancy remote control wand (in addition to a conventional remote control)feature. Unfortunately we have not really liked how the local dimming was treated(in a word, sloppy) and there is no way to disable it. The remote control is fun, but you will probably not use after the first few weeks.
